Every gallon of heating oil delivered by Pricerite Oil Inc. across Rhode Island and Massachusetts is Bioheat® fuel. Not some of our deliveries — all of them. That's been our commitment since 2017, and it remains one of the things we're most proud of as a company.
Bioheat® fuel is a blend of ultra-low sulfur heating oil and biodiesel — a clean-burning renewable fuel derived from natural sources such as plant oils and agricultural byproducts. The result is a fuel that burns cleaner than conventional heating oil, produces significantly lower emissions, and is better for your heating system and the environment.
The blend is measured as a percentage of biodiesel content. A B20 blend, for example, contains 20% biodiesel and 80% ultra-low sulfur heating oil. Our deliveries typically range from B10 to B25 depending on market availability and pricing conditions — we always deliver the highest blend the market supports while keeping our pricing honest and competitive.
Every gallon we deliver is enhanced with HeatForce®, a professional-grade fuel conditioner supplied by Sprague Energy, our primary fuel provider. HeatForce® is injected directly into our trucks when we pick up fuel at the terminal — which means every delivery arrives at your home already treated.
HeatForce® works continuously to clean and protect your heating system, reducing buildup and helping your equipment run at peak efficiency. It's one more way we make sure every delivery is better than what you'd get anywhere else.

The heating oil industry recently completed a two-year study on 100% renewable fuel, and the ASTM standard for heating oil biodiesel blends has been increased to allow blends up to B50. The industry has committed to reaching a 50% biodiesel blend by 2030.

We deliver the highest blend the market supports while keeping pricing honest and competitive, typically in the B10 to B25 range.
Our long-term goal is to keep pushing our blend higher as market conditions and pricing allow. The pace depends on supply economics and what our customers can reasonably afford — but the direction is clear, and our commitment to it is firm.
